Bio

Randy and Brenda Purcell moved to Guatemala from Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1998 to support and advance the ongoing ministry begun in 1983 by Missionary Ventures.

The Purcells host regular events for local pastors, pastors’ wives, and youth, as well as specific short-term ministry teams. They also oversee the funding and accountability of pastor support and seven children’s feeding centers.

They have committed themselves to providing pastoral care for national pastors and their wives, long-term discipleship of Guatemalan leaders, and spiritual encouragement for young adults by opening their home for Bible studies, special events, meals, and prayer. After serving for more than two decades as Guatemala Country Directors, Randy and Brenda now serve as Pastoral Care and Connection Coordinators for Missionary Ventures Guatemala.

In addition, they respond to national and local crises, including volcanic eruptions, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing emergency aid and compassionate care for those in need.

God has gifted Randy and Brenda with hearts for hospitality and the ability to adapt as ministry opportunities and needs evolve. They strive to be flexible and creative in sharing the love of Christ with the people of Guatemala.
