First Entry: Dusty, Different and Delightful

Life in Uganda is dusty, different and delightful. Dusty because there is serious orange dust EVERYWHERE and ALWAYS. I now understand Gen. 13:16 much much better. Even if you dusted in the house on Monday, Tuesday you have to dust again. I appreciate God making the understanding of dust very personal for me.

Different because I am from a culture of convenience and fast paced living. Here in Uganda, if I want a meal, first i need to light the small charcoal stove out on the porch, then add the ingredients to an aluminum pan and wait for at least an hour. If a suddenly feel like pizza or fast food…then i would have to drive at least an hour to get to a place and only during the day (because I live in the village). I can get fried chicken from a street vendor but i still have to drive 20 to 30 mins to go buy it and some french fries and maybe a soda. No Taco bell here, lol

Delightful because how wonderful is it that I get the honor of doing God’s work! The people of Uganda, in general, are very friendly and lovable. The food is organic and yummy and the views are indescribably beautiful.

Today is a good day, so excited to be making the first entry. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!
