Director of Field Development

Bio

Arlen is passionate about discipleship and carries a vision to equip and empower missionaries to be effective in their disciple-making efforts, ultimately transforming nations. A strategic thinker and collaborator, he has dedicated his life to advancing the kingdom of God.

Raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, within a conservative Mennonite community, Arlen grew up surrounded by the values of faith, hard work, frugality, integrity, and lifelong learning. These formative experiences continue to shape the way he lives and ministers today.

Arlen and his wife, Keturah, joined Missionary Ventures in 1996. They first served near Guatemala City, hosting mission teams from 1997–2003, and then ministered in the Petén region from 2003–2013. Their work focused on strengthening local churches, discipling believers, and resourcing Christian schools and teachers, with a special emphasis on families and marriages.

In 2013, the Kings and their four children—Asher, Cordell, Ariana, and Tyrell—relocated to Orlando, Florida, to serve at MV’s international office. Today, as Director of Field Development, Arlen helps shape MV’s strategic vision, goals, and objectives, guiding ministry efforts worldwide. He is responsible for seeing that Missionary Ventures provides the support and oversight that missionaries need to thrive in their calling.
